Adam Strock, Dean of Students
I have been in education since 2006 as a teacher and administrator. My experience as a teacher included teaching band, choir, general music, and musical theater and I have been an administrator at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Arizona State University, a Master of Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. I also serve as an adjunct instructor and course developer in the education department at Rio Salado College. I am married with two children and live in the Gilbert community.
I currently serve as the head of school for the Gilbert Accelerated Middle School (GAMS) and the International Baccalaureate program at Gilbert High School. In addition to my role as the GAMS and IB head of school, I also serve as the 9th grade administrator for GHS. I am passionate about creating educational opportunities for all students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a safe, supportive, and rigorous school environment.
Gilbert Accelerated Middle School at Gilbert High School is a unique opportunity for 7th and 8th-grade students to be challenged academically in a supportive environment built on a love of learning that prepares students for a successful future in high school and beyond. Students are immersed in honors and accelerated curriculum with access to the resources of a comprehensive high school, while in a supportive cohort of other 7th and 8th-grade students. The learning experience is both academically rigorous and well-rounded, based on the application of knowledge and reflection, project-based learning, critical thinking, cross-curricular portfolio building, and student-centered learning approaches. Students gain access to the instructional expertise of high school/college-level faculty and are encouraged and supported to develop strong leadership and study skills, preparing them for a successful future in high school and beyond.
