Gilbert Accelerated Middle School 7th grader August Richards was recognized at a GPS Governing Board Meeting for his 5th-place finish at the District Spelling Bee.

On February 5, 2025, Gilbert Accelerated Middle School’s Katia Gillilea earned 1st place in the 7-8 Grade Division at the District Oratorical Contest with her speech on Helen Keller. She was also recognized and performed her speech at the February 24 GPS Governing Board Meeting.

Gilbert Public Schools is launching ParentSquare as our new district-wide communication platform in January 2026.

Please complete the GAMS Interest Screener PRIOR to completing the Open Enrollment Application. Approval of acceptance will need to be included in the Open Enrollment Application. Open Enrollment begins November 3rd.

At GPS, students and staff are not defined by data points. Instead, the district aims to connect, create, and care, using data as a tool to support every learner. During the February 10 Board Meeting, district leaders shared evidence of academic growth in literacy, mathematics, science, and advanced coursework, reflecting how educators are working together to make data-informed decisions to support students. As the year continues, this work remains ongoing, with teams across the district focused on building forward and strengthening student success.

At a Special Governing Board meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, the Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Jared Ryan as the next Superintendent of Gilbert Public Schools, beginning in the 2026/27 school year.
