Gilbert High’s Meghan Gray Earns National Board Certification, Recognized at GPS Governing Board Meeting

Mrs. Gray, the International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Gilbert High, maintained a National Board Certification for the 2026 school year, a distinction achieved by approximately 3% of teachers nationwide. Mrs. Gray was recognized at the GPS Governing Board on February 24, 2026.
National Board Certification is considered the highest professional credential in education. The process of earning the certification is grounded in the National Board’s Five Core Propositions and is designed to collect clear evidence of accomplished teaching practice. Candidates complete four rigorous components - a computer-based assessment measuring content knowledge and three portfolio entries demonstrating differentiation in instruction, teaching practice, learning environment, and reflective professional decision-making.
The certification process can take one to five years to complete and requires educators to demonstrate measurable impact on student learning. It offers 25 certificate areas structured by developmental level and discipline, ensuring that certification reflects deep subject expertise and a strong understanding of how students learn.
