Michelle Nakamura, Assistant Principal

I am a wife and proud mom of two boys, one a Gilbert Public Schools Graduate and one a current GPS Junior High Student. When I am not at work I can be found with family or friends. I love to travel, hike, visit National Parks,  scuba dive and  enjoy Thrill rides at Amusement Parks. I was born and raised on the East Coast but have called Arizona home since 2000.

I am thrilled to start my 2nd year at  Gilbert High School this year while entering my 30th  year of Education with Gilbert being the District I have called home for the last 24 years. I have spent 15 years as a Special Education Teacher and 15 years as a School Administrator with experiences at Traditional High Schools, Junior High Schools and Online Learning.  

I love my role as an Assistant Principal, I enjoy meeting with families and students and working together to help students achieve their goals. Gilbert High has the unique ability to offer a large number of academic programs and a variety of educational opportunities to students.  I look forward to  continuing to work with staff, students and families to build upon a strong Gilbert Culture.
