¡Bienvenidos!

Spanish I and Spanish II study both the Spanish language and the cultures where Spanish is spoken.  These courses focus on meaningful language exchanges, with the goal that each student will communicate in Spanish at a novice/intermediate level, in a culturally appropriate manner.  It is my goal that students will develop not only proficiency, but also the desire to become life-long learners who recognize the personal and professional advantages of speaking a second language.

About Me

I am a highly-qualified Spanish teacher, having earned my bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Justice Studies from Arizona State University in 2008. I also received my Master's in Education in 2011 from ASU, and began teaching high school Spanish that year.  I have been lucky to study Spanish during all phases of my education, but truly gained fluency when I studied abroad in Venezuela and Mexico.  It is my goal that all of my students will gain functional proficiency, so that they can navigate Spanish in their own travels and interactions.

When I am not teaching, I am enjoying life with my husband and children. Together, we love to travel and explore the world.
