Frequently Asked Questions

When may I use the library?
The library is officially open from 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  On Wednesday's the library closes at 1:30 p.m.  Often the library is closed for special events or testing during the day. No pass is required before or after school. Lunch hours do not require a pass. During class periods a signed pass from the teacher is required at the front desk. Students with release periods are welcome.
The library is not open on Saturday or Sunday and the schedule follows the District calendar for breaks. The library is not open when our District is not in session.  The library is also not open during the summer, unless the District Summer School is being held on our campus. When that occurs, library use is for summer school students and faculty only.

How does book check-out work?

A picture ID is required: School ID or a driver’s license. Regular books circulate for 10 school days and most reference materials may be checked out overnight. Reference materials checked out overnight are due before the start of school. After a grace period of 5 school days, the fine for regular checkouts will be $.10/day from the due date. Overnight checkouts not turned in before first hour will incur fines of $.25/period, or $1.50 per day.
What happens if I owe a fine or overdue book?
A student will not be allowed to check out anything else until overdue materials are returned and the fine is paid. If a book is lost or damaged, a student will be required to pay replacement cost.
Are textbooks available to use for homework?
We have multiple copies of many textbooks which may be used in the library only. Collateral must be given for the book.
Is there a charge for printing?
